Humor ...it is a difficult concept
I like William Shatner. I also like the fact that he's comfortable enough with his acting abilities and his place in pop culture to do something like this little film ...check it out here.

New Release Tuesday ...oh, my aching pocketbook
Yow! A sizable number of new DVD's came out over the last few weeks that I was interested in (as you can tell by the new additions to my DVD list). I did, however, exercise admirable restraint and refrained from getting 'The Seed Of Chucky'. What willpower!

Free money is the best kind
Well ...not really free money, since 8 years of payroll taxes had come before this, but regardless ...I received my first unemployment check today. That got me thinking about investigating the origin of unemployment pay and how exactly the formula was derived. Upon reflection however, that seemed like a lot of work, so I took a nap instead.

"Happy Windsday Eeyore!"
Having recently been excommunicated from my place of employment, I find that my world is without the motivational catchphrases that appeared on posters and cards within the work environment. While searching the web for that which was lacking I came upon a site that matches my outlook just a bit more closely, Despair.com. You can find it here or in my links section.
A few of the stirring quotes contained therein on various types of merchandise include:
Adversity - That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
Hazards - There is an island of opportunity in the middle of every difficulty. Miss that, though, and you're pretty much doomed.
Indifference - It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
Irresponsibility - No single raindrop believes it is to blame for the flood.
Loneliness - If you find yourself struggling with loneliness, you're not alone. And yet you are alone. So very alone.
Motivation - If a pretty poster and a cute saying are all it takes to motivate you, you probably have a very easy job. The kind robots will be doing soon.
Pessimism - Every dark cloud has a silver lining, but lightning kills hundreds of people each year who are trying to find it.
Trouble - Luck can't last a lifetime unless you die young.
I know what my friends are getting for Christmas this year.

Sam Rockwell is The Batman
Sam Rockwell is currently starring in 'The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy', but in lieu of that check him out as Batman in the rather amusing short film, 'Robin's Big Date'. It can be viewed here:

Welcome
Greetings, and welcome to my entry into the world of blog. This is a work in progress, and seeing as I have plenty of time on my hands these days I'll probably be tweaking it quite a bit, so any suggestions are welcome. Let the games begin ...Huzzah!
